IRON BOY animation film set for German cinema release in 2027

The hand-drawn animated film ‘IRON BOY’, directed by Louis Clichy, is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release in Germany on January 21, 2027, via Neue Visionen Filmverleih.

The French-Belgian co-production has received significant international acclaim, recently winning four awards at German festivals. At the Schlingel Film Festival in Chemnitz, it was named ‘Best Animated Feature Film’ and received the ‘Club of Festivals Award’ for best youth film. Additionally, at the LUCAS International Festival in Frankfurt, the film won the top prize for ‘Best Feature Film’ and the ECFA-Award from the European Children’s Film Association.

These honors follow previous successes at the Cannes Film Festival, where it received a Special Jury Prize in the ‘Un Certain Regard’ section, and the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, where it secured three awards, including the Jury Prize and the Audience Award.
