Iron Maiden kicks off 50th anniversary tour in New Jersey
Heavy metal legends Iron Maiden kicked off their ‘Run For Your Lives’ 50th anniversary tour at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey, over Labor Day weekend. The two-night event drew approximately 25,000 fans each night.
The shows featured a triple bill including superstar openers Megadeth and Anthrax. Megadeth is currently performing in support of their final eponymous album as part of a farewell tour. Anthrax performed a set including classics such as ‘Caught in a Mosh’ and ‘Indians,’ as well as their new single ‘It’s For The Kids’ from the forthcoming album ‘Cursum Perficio’.
Iron Maiden’s set focused on their classic era, spanning from their 1980 self-titled debut to 1992’s ‘Fear of the Dark.’ The tour marks a significant scale increase for the band, moving from smaller venues to large-scale stadium performances.
