Ironworker injured by high-voltage magnetic field in Erzincan

Recep Doğan, a 36-year-old ironworker in the Tercan district of Erzincan, is recovering from severe injuries sustained after being caught in the magnetic field of a high-voltage power line. While working on a prefabricated house construction site at a height of approximately 3 meters, Doğan was struck by the electrical field despite not making direct contact with the wires.

The incident caused Doğan to fall from his platform, and his clothing caught fire. His apprentice managed to extinguish the flames and alert emergency services. Following initial treatment at Tercan State Hospital, Doğan was transferred to the Burn Treatment Center at Erzurum City Hospital.

Doğan spent five days in intensive care and has suffered burns to approximately one-third of his body. He also reported temporary vision issues and ongoing struggles with balance and mental clarity. His condition is currently reported as stable as he continues his recovery.
