Irori Company launches project to preserve rare Takenotanitsuruushi Wagyu
Irori Company has launched a crowdfunding project on Makuake to preserve and promote Takenotanitsuruushi, an extremely rare breed of Wagyu beef. With only approximately 25 to 30 head of this ancient lineage remaining nationwide in Japan, the meat is rarely available on the market, often appearing only once every few years.
The project offers various meat sets, including premium steak and rare cut yakiniku sets, featuring cuts such as Chateaubriand, sirloin, and misuji. A key feature of the campaign is the establishment of the ‘Takenotanitsuruushi Premium Club’. All supporters of the Makuake project will receive founding membership rights, granting them exclusive access to future limited sales and early notifications for rare cuts.
Unlike many modern Wagyu varieties known for marbling, Takenotanitsuruushi is characterized by the intense flavor and strength of its lean red meat. The initiative aims to ensure the survival of this historic bloodline by connecting consumers directly with the preservation efforts.
