Irplast to launch new packaging film production line in Atessa
Irplast, an Italian company specializing in BOPP film, labels, and adhesive tapes, is set to inaugurate a new industrial production line in Atessa (Chieti) on September 15. The new facility will utilize LISIM (Linear Simultaneous Stretching Machine) technology provided by Brückner Maschinenbau to produce high-performance special films for packaging.
The new line will have an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons of high-performance films designed for recyclable monomaterial structures. This expansion is part of a broader industrial plan in which the company, which will join the Japanese Toppan group in 2025, has invested a total of 60 million euros in innovation, growth, and internationalization.
The project aims to improve energy efficiency and aligns with the European Union's Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which encourages the production of easily recyclable monomaterial solutions.
