Irrigación launches water quality testing in Corralitos

The Departamento General de Irrigación has launched an urgent contingency plan in the Corralitos district of Guaymallén, Mendoza, following resident complaints regarding water quality and hygiene. To address concerns of potential contamination linked to sewage spills over the last three years, the agency is conducting house-to-house inspections and laboratory testing.

A mobile office has been established at the intersection of Severo del Castillo and 2 de Mayo. For the next 90 days, residents can request water analysis at this location on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 13:00. Technical teams will perform on-site assessments and more comprehensive laboratory studies to ensure potability.

In addition to testing, engineers are conducting a survey of homes without formal water network connections to include them in future infrastructure projects. The agency is also supervising the construction of sewage collectors in eastern Guaymallén to prevent further overflows and groundwater contamination.
