Irsina submits culture bid as Emilia-Romagna concludes territorial reform talks

The town of Irsina has officially presented its candidacy dossier for the ‘Italian Capital of Culture 2029’. Titled “Il futuro abita i piccoli luoghi” (The future lives in small places), the proposal focuses on using culture as a tool to address the future of small communities, improving living standards, and creating opportunities for residents to remain in smaller centers.

In the Emilia-Romagna region, the government has concluded a participatory process regarding territorial reorganization reform. Following a series of meetings across nine provinces and online consultations involving hundreds of citizens and local administrators, the regional government is now set to revise the regional bill. The goal is to submit the reformed territorial reorganization project to the Legislative Assembly by the end of the year.
