Irumudi film achieves major box office success amid school portrayal controversy

The Telugu film ‘Irumudi’, starring Ravi Teja and directed by Shiva Nirvana, has achieved significant box office success, reportedly crossing the ₹87–88 crore worldwide gross mark within its first four days. The devotional action thriller, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, reached its break-even point within two to three days of its release.

Despite its commercial success, the film has faced controversy from the Andhra Pradesh Teachers’ Federation (APTF). The association has demanded the removal of specific scenes, alleging that the film portrays government schools, teachers, and students in a negative light, specifically citing the use of a real school name and student uniforms.

At a recent success meet, the production team expressed gratitude for the overwhelming audience response. Director Shiva Nirvana credited the film’s success to the creative freedom provided by Ravi Teja, while the actor noted the strong emotional connection the story has established with viewers.
