Irvine's Great Park prepares for 45,000-person Olivia Rodrigo festival
The inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival, headlined by Olivia Rodrigo, is expected to draw approximately 45,000 attendees to Irvine’s Great Park on August 29. The sold-out event features an all-female lineup including Stevie Nicks, Chappell Roan, and Sarah McLachlan.
This scale represents a significant increase for the venue, which typically hosts crowds of around 10,000. To accommodate the surge, organizers are utilizing the Great Park Live stage and constructing an additional main stage near the park’s orange balloon.
City officials are implementing strict traffic and parking management plans following previous large-scale events that caused severe congestion. Measures include closing residential streets, requiring residents to show proof of residency for access, and implementing high parking fees. The city is slated to receive revenue from ticket sales and parking fees, with an estimated $225,000 expected from ticket levies.
