Isa Draaijer wins reading competition in Veendam

Isa Draaijer won a reading competition held at the De Manne public primary school in Veendam as part of the annual Kinderboekenweek event. Four upper-grade students competed by reading fragments from self-chosen books, with judges evaluating them on clarity, intonation, and audience engagement.

The jury included Deputy Mayor Henk Jan Schmaal, Anne Kamps from the library, and Nicolette de Gooyer. In addition to Draaijer winning a voucher, Simon Koning was awarded the ‘Gouden Griffel’ and Soe de Jonge received the ‘Gouden Penseel’ during the ceremony.
