ISA World Junior Surfing Championship: Day 5 results
The fifth day of the 2026 ISA World Junior Surfing Championship in Surf City, El Salvador, saw significant progress in the competition rounds. Conditions featured clean three-to-four-foot waves at La Bocana and El Sunzal.
In the U18 Girls division, defending champion Sol Borelli of Spain was eliminated following strong performances by Victoria Muñoz Larreta and Emma van der Huls. Meanwhile, Japan's Arisa Ishii secured a dominant win in her heat, maintaining Japan's position in the top four of the team rankings.
In the U16 Boys division, Peru's Lucca Barrientos recorded the highest scores of the day, including a single-wave score of 7.83.
In the team standings, Australia, Brazil, and Peru are currently tied for the lead. Australia and Peru have nearly all their surfers through to Round 3, while Brazil awaits the results of their remaining U18 Girls heats. Out of the original 420 competitors, 238 have been eliminated following the completion of various Round 2 heats.
