Isaac Atkins places in top five on America's Got Talent

Isaac Atkins, a 23-year-old U.S. Army Sergeant from Lewiston known as the ‘Singing Soldier,’ finished in the top five of ‘America’s Got Talent’ but did not advance to the finale. During his live performance, Atkins sang ‘Way Down We Go’ by the band Kaleo, earning praise from judges Mel B and Sofia Vergara.

While Atkins secured a spot in the top five through fan voting, he fell short of the three acts chosen to move to the next round. The advancing acts included the Acro Canine Crew, magician Kameron Marshall, and comedian Daniel Alvarez. Additionally, 14-year-old singer Lai Noelle received a Golden Buzzer from guest judge Kenan Thompson, granting her an automatic spot in the finals.

Kenan Thompson appeared as a substitute judge for Simon Cowell, who is currently recovering from surgery. The judging panel also included Howie Mandel and Mel B.
