Isaac del Toro sees salary rise and eyes 2028 Olympics

Mexican cyclist Isaac del Toro has seen a significant financial and professional ascent following his performances in elite world cycling. After securing second place in the general classification of the 2025 Giro d'Italia, del Toro triggered a contract clause with UAE Team Emirates that triples his salary. His estimated annual earnings are now approximately 2.5 million dollars.

Beyond his professional contract, del Toro is focused on qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. While he is currently the top point contributor for Mexico in the UCI rankings, Olympic qualification is determined by national rankings rather than individual standing. Mexico must accumulate sufficient UCI points as a nation between October 2024 and October 2027 to secure spots for the competition.
