Mexican cyclist Isaac del Toro stays in Tour de France top‑10
Mexican rider Isaac del Toro, competing for UAE Team Emirates, retained seventh place in the general classification of the 2026 Tour de France after stage 12. The flat 179 km stage from Nevers Magny‑Cours to Chalon‑sur‑Saône ended with a massive crash within the final 200 m; del Toro escaped uninjured, helped clear fallen bikes and finished 59th, receiving the same time as stage winner Tim Merlier due to a neutralisation rule. He remains 5 minutes 8 seconds behind race leader Tadej Pogačar.
The result also secures del Toro’s third position in the young rider (white jersey) competition, just 46 seconds behind leader Juan Ayuso. Earlier, after stage 11, he had finished 48th‑49th and stayed seventh overall. His consistent performance keeps him among the leading contenders as the race moves toward the upcoming mountainous stages.
