Mexican rider Isaac del Toro wins 2026 Tour Auvergne Rhône‑Alpes

Isaac del Toro of UAE Team Emirates‑XRG claimed victory in the 2026 Tour Auvergne Rhône‑Alpes, completing the 91‑rider race in 29 h 35 min 05 s. He finished 54 seconds ahead of Australian Luke Tuckwell and 1 minute 17 seconds ahead of Spanish Juan Ayuso, who took third place. Del Toro dominated the decisive mountain stages, launching a decisive attack on the Plateau de Solaison and improving Jonas Vingegaard’s previous climb record by 1 minute 34 seconds.

The win positions del Toro as a key domestique for five‑time Tour de France champion Tadej Pogacar, who will rely on his climbing strength in the upcoming Tour. Reflecting on his performance, del Toro said, “Doğru yönde ilerlediğinizi bilmek zihnen büyük bir huzur veriyor,” emphasizing his mental calm before the next grand tour.

The race, formerly the Dauphiné, was staged across the French Alps, featuring 21 km of climbing and showcasing the depth of talent within the UAE squad, which also secured podium spots for Tuckwell and Ayuso.
