Isaac Fayose criticizes Nigerians over fuel prices and governance
Isaac Fayose has criticized the Nigerian public for their perceived silence and changing attitudes regarding economic hardship and governance. In a viral video, Fayose argued that citizens are contributing to the nation's problems by failing to hold the government accountable for inadequate infrastructure, electricity, and public services.
Fayose specifically highlighted the disparity between government spending on branded political campaign buses and the poor state of emergency medical services, urging citizens to compare the quality of the two. He further criticized the sharp rise in petrol prices, noting that while citizens protested when fuel cost approximately ₦98 per litre during the Goodluck Jonathan administration, many are now praising President Bola Tinubu despite prices reaching between ₦1,400 and ₦1,500 per litre.
He suggested that the harsh treatment of citizens by the government has led to a breakdown in social cohesion, claiming that many people have become “wicked” toward one another as a result of their circumstances.
