Isabel Díaz Ayuso accuses Pedro Sánchez of treason over Ceuta crisis

Madrid Community President Isabel Díaz Ayuso has intensified her political opposition to Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, accusing him of being a ‘traitor’ and ‘irresponsible’ regarding the ongoing migration crisis in Ceuta. During events celebrating the Virgen de la Paloma, Ayuso criticized the central government for its perceived abandonment of the city and for failing to address security concerns despite the high terrorist alert level.

Ayuso also presented ten formal questions to the Prime Minister and his cabinet, focusing on public spending, the use of official aircraft, and the management of international crises. She further questioned the central government's handling of recent wildfires in the Sierra Oeste region of Madrid, while simultaneously announcing continued regional investment to support affected municipalities.

In Ceuta, the political tension extends to internal party disputes, with a PSOE deputy calling for the resignation of the government delegate due to the migration situation. Meanwhile, Vox leader Santiago Abascal has echoed Ayuso's criticisms, alleging that the government is deliberately demoralizing Ceuta's residents to facilitate a future handover of the territory to Morocco.
