Isabel Díaz Ayuso criticizes TVE coverage of Madrid Grand Prix

Isabel Díaz Ayuso, President of the Community of Madrid, has criticized the public broadcaster TVE regarding its coverage of the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix. The event is being held at a new urban circuit near Ifema Madrid, marking the return of Formula 1 to the capital after 45 years.

Ayuso accused the broadcaster of attempting to “diminish the success” of the event and claimed the coverage was working to damage the image of the race. She stated that the public television service appeared to be “at the service of the Government” by focusing on negative aspects rather than highlighting the international significance of the sporting event.

The Grand Prix is expected to draw approximately 350,000 spectators over the course of the weekend.
