Isabel Schneider appointed head of Oer-Erkenschwick city library

Isabel Schneider has taken over as the new head of the Oer-Erkenschwick city library, succeeding Renate Schröder, who has retired. Schneider, a trained bookseller and graduate librarian, previously worked for the Herten city library.

In her new role, Schneider intends to focus on reading promotion for children and views the library as both a meeting point and a place for learning. While the library offers digital media and e-books, she maintains that many readers will continue to prefer printed books.
