Isabella Scherer discusses postpartum body and future surgery
Brazilian influencer and chef Isabella Scherer has spoken openly about her postpartum body following the birth of her third child, Tom, on August 25. In a recent social media interaction, Scherer described her current physical state as “zuado” (messed up) but noted she does not intend to use her body solely for internet engagement or “body tours.”
Scherer revealed her intention to undergo surgery next year to address her abdominal health, specifically aiming to perform an abdominoplasty to repair a hernia and diastasis recti once she has finished breastfeeding. She emphasized that while she is adjusting to this new phase, she will not let body shame prevent her from enjoying the summer.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Carlos Tagliari noted that Scherer’s decision to wait until the end of breastfeeding is medically sound. He explained that pregnancy causes significant changes to the abdominal wall, and addressing diastasis—the separation of abdominal muscles—alongside hernias requires careful planning to restore muscle function and firmness.
