Isabelle Haak sets European volleyball record in Sweden victory

Swedish volleyball player Isabelle Haak set a new European Championship record by scoring 52 points in a single match. Her performance led Sweden to a 3-2 comeback victory against Croatia during the group stage of the women's EuroVolley 2026.

In the match held in Gothenburg, Sweden trailed 0-2 in sets before recovering to win with set scores of 16-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-16, and 23-21. Haak contributed 47 points through attacks with a 57% efficiency rate, along with three aces and two blocks. The victory secures Sweden's advancement to the round of 16.

Swedish national team coach Lorenzo Micelli praised the performance, stating, “She is the best in the world.”
