Isabelle Saporta suspended from LCI following clash with Prisca Thévenot

LCI commentator Isabelle Saporta has been suspended from the airwaves until the end of the week following a heated confrontation with MP Prisca Thévenot on the program ‘Brunet sans filtre’. The decision was announced by Thierry Thuillier, the deputy director of information for the TF1 group, after Saporta reportedly refused to apologize to the former government spokesperson.

The altercation occurred during a debate regarding urban violence and political responsibility. During the exchange, Saporta directed sharp criticisms toward the presidential majority, stating, ‘The problem with Macronism is that they do not listen, they lecture.’ She further questioned the legitimacy of the ruling party, asking Thévenot, ‘What do you do besides sink France?’

While the channel’s ethics and deontological committee has been notified, Saporta is expected to retain her daily commentary slot on TF1’s morning program. The incident also saw the sidelining of consultant Bruno Pomart following controversial remarks regarding rioters.
