Isack Hadjar admits he was too lenient to Max Verstappen at British Grand Prix

French rookie Isack Hadjar said he was "too kind" to his Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. He qualified fifth on the grid while Verstappen started seventh, but after four laps Verstappen passed him and later retired with a rear‑wing failure. Hadjar’s race pace dropped after a damaged front wing and tyre‑management issues, but a wing change later gave him back nearly two seconds per lap, allowing him to finish fifth.

Hadjar, now eighth in the championship after nine races, sits 24 points behind Verstappen – a gap that would likely be larger without Verstappen’s retirements in Silverstone, Monaco and China. He expressed regret that he made the race easier for Verstappen, while acknowledging the lesson of racing a four‑time world champion.
