Isack Hadjar secures third-place podium in Baku return

Isack Hadjar successfully returned to Formula 1 at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, securing a third-place finish for Red Bull Racing. This performance follows a three-race absence due to a wrist injury. Hadjar, who has been confirmed for a Red Bull seat in 2027, managed to secure a double podium for the team alongside Max Verstappen.

Following the race, Hadjar faced an investigation by stewards regarding a potential infringement of the Race Director's instructions during reconnaissance laps. The investigation centered on his failure to perform a practice start and his positioning within the pit exit lane. However, the stewards issued only a warning rather than a driving reprimand, citing mitigating circumstances. They noted that Hadjar had been distracted after having to abort an initial attempt at a practice start.

During the weekend, Hadjar showed strong pace, qualifying fourth. He noted that he approached the difficult Baku street circuit cautiously to avoid injury to his wrist, stating, “I went gently and it paid off.”
