Red Bull Racing faces technical issues at US Grand Prix

Red Bull Racing experienced significant technical difficulties during the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas. Drivers Isack Hadjar and Max Verstappen both struggled with unreliable radio communications, which hindered real-time coordination with the pit wall regarding strategy and technical data.

Isack Hadjar reported a poor start, dropping from third to fifth position due to what he described as a fragile clutch prone to overheating and ‘clutch over delivery’. Hadjar has called for a complete redesign of the component, noting that the current hardware is unreliable under racing temperatures. He also expressed frustration over strategic errors, including being placed on the wrong tyre compound and receiving incorrect car maps due to the communication failures.

Team principal Laurent Mekies acknowledged the radio issues, noting they have persisted for two consecutive races. Regarding the start performance, Mekies stated that while the team is working to close the gap to competitors, a full resolution to the starting procedure problems will likely require hardware and design changes that may not be implemented until next season.
