Isaiah Hartenstein misses Germany national team call-up due to injury

Isaiah Hartenstein will be unable to participate in Germany's upcoming World Cup 2027 qualifying matches due to an ankle injury. The 28-year-old center, who plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder, had hoped to make his return to the national team after an eight-year absence.

Despite the injury, Hartenstein intends to show his support for the team by attending the Basketball Supercup in Hamburg to be present on the sidelines. He expressed his commitment to the national squad, stating, “I just wanted to make a sign that I am here,” and noted his desire to unite with the group.

Hartenstein previously focused on establishing his NBA career, which delayed his international involvement. He has now set long-term goals of competing in the upcoming World Cup in Qatar and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
