Isaiah Washington confirms death of wife Jenisa Garland

Isaiah Washington, known for his role in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, has publicly confirmed the death of his wife, Jenisa Marie Garland. Washington revealed on Instagram that Jenisa passed away on June 9, 2025, after suffering a massive hemorrhagic stroke on May 31, 2025.

The actor had kept the loss private for approximately 16 months out of respect for Jenisa, who was described as an extremely private person. The couple had been married for 29 years and shared three children: Tyme, Iman, and Isaiah V.

In his announcement, Washington used the personal tragedy to issue a health warning to his followers. He urged people to take severe headaches seriously, noting that they are not always just migraines but can be warning signs of more serious conditions. He encouraged those experiencing such symptoms to seek medical attention and undergo brain scans if possible.
