Isan-myeon Residents Host Cultural Heritage Walk and Farmers Market

The Isan-myeon Residents' Autonomy Committee held the ‘2026 Isan Old House Path Cultural Heritage Walk and Agricultural Products Free Market’ on October 24 in Yeongju, South Korea. Approximately 400 residents and visitors participated in the event, which utilized the area's historic old houses, natural landscapes, and cultural heritage sites, including Isan Seowon.

The program included a two-hour walk through the village paths to explore local history, followed by a free market operating from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. where local farmers sold regional agricultural products. The event also featured cultural performances by local arts groups, prize drawings, and commemorative gifts for participants.

Supported by Yeongju City and the Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water) Yeongju Dam Branch, the initiative aimed to promote local history and boost the regional economy by connecting cultural tourism with agricultural sales.
