Isar Aerospace co-founder Josef Fleischmann steps down as CTO

Josef Fleischmann, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of the Munich-based space startup Isar Aerospace, is stepping down from his role. The departure comes shortly after the company successfully launched a rocket into Earth orbit earlier this month.

Fleischmann intends to focus on his new venture, Bavaria Instruments, which aims to develop space technologies specifically centered on orbital computing. This technology is designed to enable real-time data processing in space, improving Earth observation analysis and the autonomous coordination of spacecraft. Despite leaving his executive position, Fleischmann will retain his stake in Isar Aerospace.

Can Araz has been named as the successor for the CTO position. Daniel Metzler will continue to lead Isar Aerospace as CEO.
