Ischia implements drainage maintenance and new cleaning tenders

In Ischia, maintenance operations have been carried out on rainwater drainage tanks near the Guerra parking area along the highway. This intervention follows an appeal by Mariarosaria Urraro of Europa Verde to ensure proper water runoff and prevent waste, such as plastic bottles and cigarette butts, from reaching the sea.

Despite the cleaning, Europa Verde notes that work is incomplete, citing two other less visible drainage tanks that still require cleaning. Additionally, the group has called on Mayor Enzo Ferrandino and metropolitan road authorities to remove dry branches and leaves from roadside flowerbeds to improve local decorum and reduce fire risks.

Meanwhile, in Barano d’Ischia, the municipal administration has launched a new open tender via the MEPA platform for cleaning services for municipal offices and the Torre Quattrocentesca. The contract, valued at 19,200 euros plus VAT, follows a two-month period without a formal agreement. The municipality opted for a competitive procedure based on the most economically advantageous tender—weighted 70% on quality and 30% on price—rather than a direct assignment, to ensure transparency and competition.
