Ischia nightlife venue Papaleo ordered to close for 15 days

The Papaleo, a well-known venue in the nightlife district of Ischia, has been ordered to close for 15 days. The suspension was mandated by the Questore of Naples following a request from the Carabinieri of the Ischia Station.

The decision follows a violent brawl that occurred outside the establishment in the early hours of August 10. The incident involved approximately ten young people and escalated from a verbal dispute into physical violence, including punches, kicks, and chases. Investigators utilized video footage to identify those involved and reconstruct the events, noting that some individuals were repeatedly struck while on the ground.

In addition to the August 10 incident, authorities considered a history of tensions and clashes in the immediate vicinity of the venue during nighttime hours. This pattern of behavior led to the administrative measure to suspend the business's activities.
