Ischia road accident leaves tourist seriously injured

A serious road accident occurred in the Sant’Alessandro area of Ischia, involving a collision between a Honda scooter and a Piaggio Porter micro-taxi. The incident took place on the road connecting Ischia Porto to Casamicciola Terme.

The scooter was carrying a young man born in 2005 and his mother, born in 1975, both tourists from Naples. During the collision, the mother was thrown from the vehicle, striking her head against the taxi's windshield before hitting the pavement. While the young driver sustained multiple traumas and abrasions, his condition is reported as not being of particular concern. The mother's condition remains serious; she was stabilized by emergency medical services and transferred to the Anna Rizzoli Hospital in Lacco Ameno for further evaluation.

No occupants of the taxi were injured. Local authorities, including the fire department and police, attended the scene to secure the area and conduct investigations to determine the exact cause of the crash and establish responsibility. The accident caused significant traffic delays in the vicinity.
