Ischia road safety concerns rise after fatal accidents

Road safety has become a critical issue in Ischia following a series of fatal accidents. Recently, 39-year-old Marco De Nigris died after a collision involving a motorcycle and an e-bike in Forio. This incident prompted the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security to meet in Naples to address the rising rate of accidents on the island.

An emergency nurse, Carmen De Lucia, reported witnessing four separate accidents in a single morning while returning from a night shift. She noted that many of the incidents involved very young people, including students traveling to school, highlighting the growing concern regarding road safety and its impact on the local community.
