Isdefe President Manuel Cutrín resigns from public company
Manuel Cutrín has resigned as the president of the Spanish public defense systems engineering company, Isdefe. In an email to staff, Cutrín cited personal reasons and a desire to pursue new challenges for his irrevocable resignation.
Reports suggest Cutrín may have been invited to step down following scrutiny of his management. His departure comes just two months after the resignation of his second-in-command, María Teresa Castillo Pasalodos, who left the company in June due to her connection to the Leire Díez case. That investigation involves an alleged public contract rigging scheme within SEPI, which has led to the indictment of 25 individuals by the National Court.
Cutrín, a lawyer who joined Isdefe in April 2025, previously held positions in the legal departments of the Santiago de Compostela City Council and the Lugo Provincial Council. His appointment was noted for breaking a long-standing tradition of technical, engineering-led leadership at the company.
