Isernia preserves original 1970 manifesto announcing province creation
The Municipality of Isernia has officially received the original printed manifesto announcing the birth of the Province of Isernia. The document, dated January 22, 1970, was donated to the municipal headquarters at Palazzo San Francesco by Luigi Crudele of the historic Crudele printing shop.
The manifesto was signed by Enrico Santoro, the mayor at the time, following the Senate's decision to finalize the province's establishment. During the handover ceremony, local officials, including current provincial president Daniele Saia and former mayor Santoro, gathered to commemorate the historical milestone.
Mayor Piero Castrataro described the document as a symbol of civil cohesion and collective mobilization. He noted that the artifact serves as a reminder of the community's capacity to achieve significant results through shared effort, especially as the region continues to discuss administrative reorganizations.
