ISF School Football World Cup 2026 concludes in Suzhou
The ISF School Football World Cup 2026 has concluded in Suzhou, China. The tournament featured various international youth teams competing in both men's and women's divisions.
In the men's competition, Croatia claimed the championship after defeating Guinea in a penalty shootout. The Hong Kong men's team finished 27th out of 35 teams, securing notable victories against Nepal and Belgium, while the Chinese Taipei men's team finished 13th after a 2-0 win against Chile.
In the women's division, China's first team successfully defended their title with a 5-1 victory over Germany in the final. The Chinese Taipei women's team finished 6th, while the Hong Kong women's team placed 12th out of 16 teams.
Following the tournament, anonymous allegations surfaced on social media regarding the Hong Kong delegation. An anonymous post on Threads claimed that during a meal at a hotpot restaurant near the hotel, coaches consumed beer and spoke loudly while players were eating. The post also alleged that despite an explosion and smoke from a fire in the restaurant, coaches insisted players remain to finish their meals. These allegations have not been officially confirmed by the coaches or the Chinese Hong Kong School Sports Federation.
