Irancell expands 5G coverage and Mirjaveh customs moves to 24-hour operations

Irancell has inaugurated several telecommunications development projects across Iran's Isfahan and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari provinces. These initiatives, launched during Government Week in the presence of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, include the deployment of 5G sites in Isfahan and Shahrekord, fiber optic projects in Dolatabad, and rural connectivity expansions in Semiram and Kohrang.

The projects aim to increase high-speed internet coverage, reduce network latency, and bridge the digital divide between urban and rural areas. The 5G site in Isfahan's Melk Shahr was completed with an investment of 295 billion rials, while the Shahrekord 5G site involved 275 billion rials.

Separately, trade facilitation between Iran and Pakistan has seen significant improvements. Following negotiations between Iranian and Pakistani officials, the Mirjaveh border customs has transitioned to 24-hour operations. This change has resulted in a 400 percent increase in clearance capacity, with daily truck clearances rising from 300 to 1,200 units.
