Ishak Pasha Palace targets 250,000 visitors by year-end
The Ishak Pasha Palace, located at the foot of Mount Ararat in the Dogubayazit district of Ağrı, aims to reach 250,000 visitors by the end of the year. The historical site, which has hosted 200,000 visitors to date, attracts both domestic and foreign tourists throughout the year.
As one of the largest palaces outside of Istanbul, the structure features Seljuk and Ottoman architectural influences and has been on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List since 2000. It is notably recognized as one of the first buildings to utilize a central heating system.
Erhan Ağrı, the Ağrı Director of Culture and Tourism, noted that the palace was constructed in the 18th century, initiated by Çolak Abdi Pasha and completed during the reign of his grandson, Ishak Pasha. The site includes the Ahmed-i Hani Tomb, the Old Beyazıt Mosque, and a museum.
