Ishaq Dar and Hakan Fidan discuss Palestine and settlement restrictions

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a telephone conversation to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments. A primary focus of the discussion was the situation in Palestine, where both officials reaffirmed a shared position.

The ministers expressed support for recent international measures against illegal Israeli settlements. Specifically, they backed the United Kingdom’s decision to ban imports of goods from illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank and to impose restrictions on services linked to them. They also voiced support for a joint statement issued by eight Arab and Islamic countries regarding these trade and service restrictions.

Additionally, Dar and Fidan reiterated their support for the “Joint Statement on the Two-State Solution” issued by the UK and other European nations. The two officials emphasized the importance of continued coordination through diplomatic channels and regional forums, such as the R4 forum involving Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, to address common regional concerns.
