Ishaq Dar chairs NEC meeting to review major development projects

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) committee to review a comprehensive agenda of developmental projects across Pakistan.

Key projects under discussion include the construction of the Khawza Khela-Basham Expressway, the Tarbela Fifth Extension Hydropower Project, and initiatives aimed at poverty alleviation in South Punjab. The committee also reviewed the Fullbright Scholarship Support Program and projects designed to improve electricity distribution efficiency within LESCO, HESCO, and PESCO.

In addition to energy and transport, the meeting addressed various water, communication, and infrastructure projects. Officials reviewed revised PC-I documents and the progress of ongoing works to ensure the effective use of national resources and timely completion. Ishaq Dar instructed relevant authorities to ensure coordinated and prompt implementation to support economic growth and connectivity.
