Ishikawa companies Komatsu Linen Supply and Seze prepare for bankruptcy

Two companies based in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, have announced they are ceasing operations and preparing for bankruptcy filings.

Komatsu Linen Supply, located in Komatsu City, suspended operations on July 31. The company, which provided linen services such as bedding and yukata to hotels, ryokans, and golf courses, reported liabilities of approximately 350 million yen. The decline is attributed to decreasing group tourism, high fuel and raw material costs, and the aging of the representative and employees.

Seze Co., Ltd., a Kanazawa-based wholesaler and retailer of women's clothing, suspended operations on August 25. The company had established a sales network across the Hokuriku region, including Ishikawa, Toyama, and Fukui prefectures. Seze cited declining sales and deteriorating profitability as the primary reasons for abandoning business operations. The total amount of debt for Seze is currently under investigation.
