Ishikawa hosts Nippon no Sozai Koshien food festival

The inaugural day of the ‘Nippon no Sozai Koshien ichi Hokuriku District Qualifiers’ drew approximately 9,000 visitors to the Ishikawa Prefecture Industrial Exhibition Hall on August 22, 2026. The event, organized by Mirai Machi Keikaku Kiko, features regional ingredients from across Japan and the Hokuriku region, allowing attendees to taste and vote on various products.

Local specialties such as Noto beef and Noto pork saw high demand, with some items selling out by 3:00 PM. In addition to food, the event included a disaster prevention component where 500 servings of emergency stockpiled rice were distributed and sold out. The venue also hosted a kids' park and dance performances to provide family-oriented entertainment.
