IshK Vocational Skills Programme graduates 500 Nigerian youths

Five hundred young Nigerians have graduated from the IshK Vocational Skills Programme in Ikeja, completing training designed to foster sustainable livelihoods. The curriculum provided technical, entrepreneurial, and employability skills in various sectors, including fashion, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, solar installation, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.

Oje Ivagba, the Programme Director for Nigeria (Skilling) at the IshK Tolaram Foundation, noted that the IshK Skills Hub in Lagos integrates technical training with soft skills, workplace experience, and access to tools. To date, the programme has trained over 2,000 young people, with a reported employment or business ownership rate of over 70 percent.

To support long-term success, the foundation has invested more than ₦20 million in tools through its Alumni Business Support Grant. Ivagba emphasized the importance of adaptability and emerging technologies, noting that the future of work requires individuals who can combine technical proficiency with uniquely human problem-solving skills.
