Ishkhan Saghatelyan criticizes Nikol Pashinyan over territorial concessions
Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a member of the ‘Armenia’ faction in the Armenian Parliament and representative of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, has criticized Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding a series of territorial concessions. Saghatelyan presented a list of actions taken by the administration, alleging that Armenian forces withdrew from strategic positions in Syunik in December 2020, and that Azerbaijani forces occupied approximately 41 square kilometers of sovereign territory in May 2021.
The list further includes the handover of a 21-kilometer section of the Goris-Kapan interstate road in November 2021, the establishment of an Azerbaijani checkpoint on the Kapan-Zangakatun road, and the handover of various settlements in Artsakh, including Berdzor, Aghavno, and Sus. Saghatelyan argued that these moves represent significant concessions to Azerbaijan.
In related domestic political developments, the ‘Armenia’ faction has expressed support for the ‘Strong Armenia’ faction’s initiative to establish an investigative commission to look into deaths occurring within the military under peaceful conditions and an incident in Shaki.
