Isiah Pacheco faces new back injury uncertainty with Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell revealed that running back Isiah Pacheco is currently dealing with a back injury. This new development complicates his recovery timeline after previously suffering a sprained MCL earlier this month.
While the team is reportedly comfortable with the progress of Pacheco’s knee, the back issue has made his availability for the regular-season opener against the New Orleans Saints uncertain. Campbell stated, “I can’t give you anything definitive,” noting that while Pacheco felt better recently, the situation remains “touch-and-go.”
Pacheco, who signed with Detroit this offseason to complement Jahmyr Gibbs, missed much of training camp due to the knee injury. The Lions are evaluating depth at the position, with Sione Vaki and Jacob Saylors among the players seeing action during his absence.
