isits AG launches first TÜV certification for Product Security Officers

isits AG has launched the first TÜV personnel certification for product cybersecurity in response to the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). The certification, titled ‘Product Security Officer (TÜV)’, is based on ISO/IEC 17024 and is audited by PersCert TÜV (TÜV Rheinland).

As companies prepare for the CRA, which mandates cybersecurity throughout the entire product lifecycle for digital elements, the certification provides a qualified individual to manage compliance. Under the regulation, manufacturers, importers, and distributors must meet specific obligations, including reporting actively exploited vulnerabilities and serious security incidents within 24 hours.

Failure to comply with the CRA can result in fines of up to 15 million euros or 2.5 percent of total worldwide annual turnover. The certification is valid for three years following a five-day training and examination process.
