Iskandar Puteri police detain two drivers for illegal supercar convoy escorting

Police in Iskandar Puteri have detained two drivers, aged 54 and 65, for acting as unauthorized marshals during a luxury supercar convoy. The incident occurred on August 15 as the convoy traveled from Puteri Harbour toward Johor Bahru city center.

The drivers were caught on video stopping other vehicles at a roundabout to clear a path for the convoy. Following public complaints and social media footage, the Iskandar Puteri District Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division conducted an operation that resulted in the detention of both men and the seizure of their vehicles.

Authorities issued four summonses for various vehicle specification non-compliance offenses. The case is being investigated under Section 110 of the Road Transport Act 1987, which carries a maximum fine of RM1,000 for obstruction and interference. Police emphasized that they will not tolerate individuals acting as illegal escorts who endanger road users by obstructing traffic.
