Iskra brodogradilište and HD Hyundai sign strategic shipbuilding pact
Iskra brodogradilište and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries have signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Šibenik, Croatia. The partnership establishes a framework for long-term collaboration in both defense and civil shipbuilding.
The agreement covers future programs for the Croatian Navy, specifically including the multi-purpose corvette project. It also opens possibilities for joint ventures in military, commercial, and specialized shipbuilding. This comes as European nations increase investments in defense capabilities and maritime border security.
Following Iskra's recent acquisition of the 3. Maj shipyard in Rijeka, the company now manages production capacities in both Šibenik and Rijeka. Roko Vuletić, President of the Management Board for Iskra and 3. Maj, stated that this partnership allows Croatian shipyards to participate in complex European and international maritime projects and develop advanced solutions for global markets.
