Isla Cristina shooting: Weapons seized in fatal clan-related attack

The Guardia Civil has recovered the weapons allegedly used in a fatal shooting in the El Rocío neighborhood of Isla Cristina, Huelva. The attack, which occurred on a Sunday night, resulted in the deaths of a 62-year-old woman, her 39-year-old pregnant daughter, and a 16-year-old boy. The unborn baby also died.

Two individuals on a motorcycle opened fire with long weapons before fleeing and attempting to burn the vehicle in a nearby pine forest. Two other people were injured, including an 18-year-old man who was in serious condition but is no longer considered to be in life-threatening danger.

Investigators are currently working under judicial secrecy, but the primary hypothesis suggests the shooting was a settling of scores between the Moriña and Salazar family clans. This theory is linked to a previous crime in 2024 in the El Torrejón neighborhood of Huelva. Security forces maintain a massive deployment in Isla Cristina and Huelva to ensure public safety while the search for the two suspects continues.
