Isla Cristina shooting investigation leads to more arrests
The investigation into the fatal shooting in Isla Cristina that occurred in August has resulted in two additional arrests. This follows the recent detention of three men who are currently in provisional prison without bail.
The shooting claimed the lives of three people: a 62-year-old woman, a 16-year-old minor, and a 39-year-old woman who was eight months pregnant. Two other individuals were wounded during the incident.
Legal proceedings have encountered complications as the defense for one of the detainees has filed a motion to recuse the presiding judge from the Ayamonte Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 3. The defense argues that the judge demonstrated a lack of impartiality during judicial appearances, suggesting that the decision to order provisional imprisonment had been made before all suspects had testified.
Initial charges against the suspects include murder, membership in a criminal group, and intentional injury to a fetus resulting in death. Previous searches by the Guardia Civil in Huelva yielded a firearm, approximately 30,000 euros in cash, ballistic vests, and various mobile phones and documents related to the case.
